There were new friends made, heartfelt exchange of life stories, experiences and lessons. Some shed tears, some stammered in opening up and some just kept smiling all the way through but if there’s one thing that surely happened was that everyone at one point in time on that day would have felt a certain joy of being in a place where the notion of “fitting in” ceased to exist.
Driving in Jaipur has been a smooth ride; annoying, confusing, crazy, yes but still, with its less traffic and well-maintained roads, far better than many of the cities I have lived in.
It’s utterly frustrating to have a preconceived notion generalized across all quarters of the female force. There are a lot of brash and impudent male drivers out there, but they find it easier to sleaze down at the women who’ve come out to make a change.
My opinion and experiences so far might be coming across as harsh, but I will also admit here that yes, not all men are aggressive, and not all women are good drivers. But is it fair to generalize and put all women in the same category?
