Encouraged by the global stature to which the Jaipur Literature Festival has grown from the confines of the Pink City, Jaipur gets ready to host the newly conceived Jaipur Art Festival 2013 from 18th March to 22nd March 2013 at Hotel Diggi Palace Jaipur.The broad aim of the 1st Jaipur Arts Festival is to make Jaipur a cultural hub with a literature festival, an art festival and also a music festival. This is a second step towards this vision of making Jaipur as a cultural hub. About 150 accomplished and upcoming artists from across the world are participating in this forthcoming event.
To be inaugurated by Her Excellency Mrs Margaret Alva, the Governor of Rajasthan, and open from 10 am – 6 pm daily, the 1st Jaipur Art Festival will see over 150 accomplished artists across the globe painting and playing with colours. In attendance would be world renowned names like Christopher Griffin from Canada, Lisa Kovvuri from US, David fromUK, Daria Raldugina from Russia, Nagendra Paudyal from Nepal, Mohamed Eunus from Bangladesh, Walmir Benhotti and Emanuel Vasco Da Graca from Brazil, Tala from Iran and Nutan Arthur from Hawaii.
The organisers have confirmed the participation of Arapna Caur, S.Pranam Singh, Anand Dev, R. K Yadav, Prof. Prakash Bhise, Ami Patel,Vipta Kapadia,Bhawani Shankar Sharma (Chairman Lalit Kala Academy), R.B Goutam (President , Progressive Artist Group) Nathu lal Verma, Ramu Ramesh, Lokesh Sharma, Suneet Ghildial, Lal Chand Marothia, Mahaweer Swami, Kalyan Joshi-Bhilwara, Ram Jaiswal ,Dr.Tilak Raj-Ajmer,Vijay Kumawat-Sawai Madhopu, Shail Choyal, Abbas Batliwala, Shaheed Parvez-Udaipur, Anil Vangad –Warli Tribal Artist, Nagendra Palala, Hamlet Shougrakpam and Anoop Gopi, amongst others who would be holding demonstrations and interactive sessions of their art forms.
The Highlights of the 1st Jaipur Art Festival 2013.
- Over 18 highly interactive demonstrations of Art forms like Miniature art, Phad, Calligraphy, Mandana, Fresco, Blue pottery, Wash technique, Mithila painting, Tie & Dye, Batik, Charcoal, Glass Painting, Sand Sculpture, Enamel Art, Worli Art and Lac bangles making.
- An Art Exhibition and sale of artworks produced in the festival would be held from 21st to 24th March at Sri Ram Darbar Hall, Hotel Diggi Palace. Daily from 11am to 6 pm .
- A Photography Contest in Professional and Amateur categories. The theme is the Jaipur Art Festival 2013 itself.
